- The point I'm getting at is that Amiga users seem to Bitch about Software not
- comming out for the Amiga, or software justs not as good on the Amiga as on
- OTHER Platforms with better Graphic's, and/or more feautres, wither it's Games,
- DTP, Word Processors, whatever, On other system's these are Large Programs,
- Needing a Fast Processor, and Even trying to get Close to the Features of say a
- IBM program on the Amiga, No Matter HOW MUCH YOU OPTIMIZE THE PROGRAM, is still
- going to NEED a faster Processor then a 68000, and 1 or 2 megs of RAM! You just
- can't keep software Compatible with 10 year old Tech Amiga's! The Minimum
- Requrments need to move up! I'm talking Amiga's with at least a 030, 6 Megs of
- Ram, and HD's as Standard! Otherwize will just keep getting few software
- released for the Amiga, Downgraded in features, and basically holding the Amiga
- BACK!
-
- Yes I've been Thinking moving on to the PC, and in fact would if I could Afford
- it myself, that's where the software is, PERIOD! Sure I don't like the Windows
- at all, I like AmigaDOS a whole lot better, but what good is just a OS? What
- good is a Great Computer system like the Amiga when there's no GREAT software to
- run on it? Even when you Upgrade to More RAM, AGA, HardDrives, Faster
- Processor, Your still held back from all the other Amiga users keeping the
- MINIMUN Amiga Standered Down to 68000 processors, and maybe a couple Megs or Ram
- at most, and NON-Hard Drive Instalable, so software doesn't get written for the
- Amiga, and the People who acually Upgrade are wishing they could do MORE with
- there Amiga's then they can.
-
- I just want things to IMPROVE! Is that to much to ASK for? Do we have to stay
- in the 80's? Have nice Small Compact programs to run on NON-Expanded, or Minor
- Expanded Amiga's? Hey I'm all for COMPACT Small Programs as long as it doesn't
- CUT anything out! Say Netscape for the AMIGA! It's a 4+ Meg program, at least
- for the MAC, If they Optimized it, Somehow Mad it Fast and only took up 3 Megs
- on the Amiga, but still did EVERYTHING, and LOOKED the Same, Great! If it still
- needed 4 Megs on the AMiga also, then so Be it. But hell with Cutting out all
- the things the Make it Great so that it'll run on say a 2 Meg Amiga with a 68000
- processor! No Thanks!
